The Club is lucky to have an experienced team of coaches and assistants to run internal competition, as well as 3 qualified referees who run one day LTA junior tournaments throughout the year and the week long Woking Open every summer (Julia Godman, Matt Trevail and Jonny Thomson).  Upcoming tournaments can be found on the Club calendar, notice board and all tournaments can be found on the LTA Competitons page.

First Level of Competition (LTA Grade 6/7)

After learning the basics of Tennis, playing a competition can be a daunting first experience at all ages, so Woking LTCC tries to offer plenty of fun competitions to give juniors confidence playing against others they know in an enjoyable environment, before potentially moving up to play in higher grade events. 



This is a local, fun, team competition aimed at recreational standard players who have have limited or no experience playing in external competitions. Players play in small teams in a mixture of singles and doubles matches against others of a similar age/level over 2-3hrs. Members, as well as teams from local Clubs are all welcome to join in and events are held on Sunday afternoons during term time (typically 7-10yrs Orange and 11-14yrs Yellow competitions). Social Tournaments - 2017

A number of one day social tournament are run through the year for fun matchplay and divided into U10 Orange or 10yrs+ Yellow Level unless stated;


Friday 14th April - Good Friday American Doubles

Fun doubles competition with different partners. 


Tuesday 4th-Friday 7th April- Easter Team Tennis Tournament

Players divided into teams with Singles and Doubles matches played over a number of days. 


Bank Holiday Monday 29th May - Family Tournament

Players can play with a sibling or parent in this social doubles event. 


Friday 22nd December - Christmas American Doubles

Fun doubles competition with different partners. 

Junior Clubnight

Fridays at at the Club are focused on entry level junior matchplay;


Friday 5-6:30pm Mini Matchplay 

Players compete in Red (6-8yrs) & Orange (8-10yrs) matches with the coach supervising, all counting towards Mini Tennis "ratings". Good sportsmanship award given out each week. 


Friday 7-9pm Junior SuperLeague

Junior Members 10yrs+ (Green/Yellow ball) can play ratings matches against other juniors in this coach organised league, with termly prizes for winners. £10 PAYG or discounted for the full term. 

Ratings Matches


Junior Ratings Matches are FREE for all junior tennis Members (10yrs+) and enable juniors to play a match against any other junior of the same rating at a mutually convenient time. Results can be submitted to the LTA by any of the coaches and players have to achieve a certain number of wins each season to improve their rating. Club Championships

Finals Weekend 24th-25th June

This annual event for all age groups at the Club (inc. Vets) runs from April – July, with consolations events allowing everyone to enjoy plenty of matches, whatever their level. All Members are encouraged to take part and matches are played at mutually convenient times. 


Mini Tennis Club Championships - Saturday 20th May: 8U and 9U Events take place over one day in a fun environment, with plenty of matches for all players. 

14U Road To Wimbledon Challenge

1st April - 11th June

This national event gives the chance for the winner of our events compete at the County Finals and possibly get through to the Nationals Finals at Wimbledon! This year there is two events; Players rated 7.1 and above can compete in the Club event to then qualify for the County Finals and players rated 6.2 and below go straight to regional event (enter on the LTA website).

LTA Grade 3 Woking Open Sponsored by Vines of Guildford BMW

23rd-29th July 2017

This is a regional level tournament run over one week in the summer holidays, with all age groups from U8 up to Men’s.  The event over 80 years old and regularly attracts over 250 players, with many top level national juniors competing for the coveted titles.

LTA Grade 4 Whitsun Tournament Sponsored by Seymours Prestige Homes

29th May-2nd June 2017

This tournament started very successfully in 2013. This event has singles and doubles events from 8U-Adult and runs over the May half-term. There is also a family tournament on Bank Holiday Monday 30th May for players to play with siblings or parents in a fun social match (10U and 10+ events).

LTA Grade 4/5 Junior Tour

All Year Round

These are one day or half-day local/County level tournaments that any player of the suitable age group can enter (acceptance list determined by highest rating and ranking). The Club aims to run at least one tournament of each age group (U8, U9, U10, U12, U14, U16) every term to allow Members the chance to compete against players from other Clubs and gain ranking points, as well as ratings wins.

Teams from various local Primary schools bring teams from year 3 and 4 to play in this fun competition, with a series of coaching sessions run in the lead up to the event.
